Backgammon Re-Invented! MicroGammonTM a Faster Playing Update of the Classic Board Game Launches Funding Effort on Kickstarter

Now seeking community support via Kickstarter, MicroGammon is a new, fast paced Backgammon game with the same rules, but increased volatility.

North Bend, WA -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/27/2018 -- Developed by Joseph Fjelstad, a seasoned inventor from Seattle, Washington, MicroGammon brings an update to the nearly 5,000-year-old Backgammon game, a board game classic. MicroGammon has launched on Kickstarter and seeks to raise $2,500 for production and distribution.

The rules of MicroGammon are fundamentally the same as they for the normal Backgammon, but the new re-design of the original game makes it more accessible by compressing gameplay and making it easier to learn and enjoy. MicroGammon uses novel dice to speed up gameplay, essentially making it two-thirds of a normal Backgammon game and increasing volatility as the occurrence of doubles is 50 percent more common.

"I've played Joe's variant with him. It's definitely interesting and more volatile. Kind of like comparing PLO to NLHE (for you poker players). Fun stuff," said Vadim Nuniyants, a Backgammon expert.

MicroGammon, first edition, will be delivered initially as a compact light weight set, which includes a board, checkers, and dice, in a see-through plastic tube for easy storage and transport.

Supporters around the world can back this project by making generous pledges and donations. Supporters can make pledges ranging from $3 to $50 or more, and each pledge comes with a series of rewards. Moreover, some associated rewards are being offered with worldwide shipping starting in January 2019. More information is available on the Kickstarter campaign page.
