Vancouver, BC -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/10/2013 -- Canadian based company NutriPlus has launched a crowdfunding project on Indiegogo with a goal of $25,000 for their NutriCrystal Bluetooth Smart Ready Food Scale to help consumers comprehensively track daily nutrient intake. Creating the world’s first product of its kind the company needs crowdfunding financial support to further develop the software necessary to achieve the already successful scale’s full potential.

Having already enjoyed success with the first version of their wireless scale called NutriScale for Android devices in September of 2012 and NutriCrystal in February 2013 for Android, iOS and desktop applications the original concept offered a better nutrition tracking solution than what was currently in the marketplace. Clearly the product was far superior than traditional scales as it offered a USDA database, macro and micro nutrient information, and multi-item calculation, as well as a Bluetooth connection. It also offered free mobile and desktop software for tracking diet history, building nutrient facts tables, unit conversion, carbohydrate intake and educational nutrient sources. “We knew we had a great product but we also knew it had an even greater potential. When we thought bigger we saw it could be developed to provide more than just daily nutrient tracking.” said Andy Tsai, President and Co-Founder of NutriPlus. To that end, the company now endeavors to increase their reach and create a mobile app and online software platform to deliver various impressive nutrition solutions.

Just a few of the new solutions NutriPlus seeks to include in the new and improved NutriCrystal are information for athletes who want to fine tune their performance, people battling Diabetes and weight-related issues and infant nutrition intake monitoring. Working with professionals in the nutrition, sports and medicine fields the new platform will allow members to view all premium health related contents, analyze how their life is affected by their nutrition intake and interact with a registered nutrition specialist via online chat or video conference support. Additionally, members using FitBit or nutrition tracking software such as MyFitnessPal will be able to import and export data between NutriPlus and other fitness platforms.

Funding for the NutriCrystal project will support the hiring of two full-time software engineers and one graphic UI designer for the next year to develop a beta version of the new comprehensive software.
