Hawaii Cupcake Factory Looks to KickStarter to Create Full Dining Experience with Fusion Cuisine and Gourmet Cupcakes to Top Meal Off

New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/13/2014 -- A pasty chef plans to bring her brother’s recipes to the masses and honor his memory at the same time with a new restaurant called Hawaii Cupcake Factory. To make this a reality, Chef Dayva launched a KickStarter campaign, http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hawaiicupcakefactory/not-just-another-cupcake-storea-dining-experience?ref=watched_project_launched,  on Jan. 10. She is looking for $75,000 in contributions.

“Dale, my brother, is the reason behind turning Hawaii Cupcake Factory into a full restaurant. As a pastry chef, I’ve wanted a cupcake bakery for a long time. But when Dale was taken from us in a taxi accident in Brooklyn, we lost more than a brother. We lost his amazing cooking talents,” she said.

A trained chef himself, Dale left many recipes with his family, including his fusion cuisine. Chef Dayva plans to bring those to diners as well as some of her own creations. One of his favorite meals was chicken fried jasmine rice with fresh vegetables and no soy sauce. Chef Dayva said this will be a daily menu item at Hawaii Cupcake Factory.

“We often joked about a brother sister cook off and bake off show at the grand opening of our restaurant, we would open together showcasing our talents together as a brother/sister duo,” Dayva said.

The restaurant itself will be an upscale casual family dining experience. Chef Dayva said it will be a place for families to relax, for businessmen and have space for those important times in life. She said a cupcake is a perfect way to present an engagement ring on the evening when the big question will be asked.

“I want to do more than a bakery because Dale and I did so much together. I remember our times together in the kitchen making a whole meal for our big family. I want to bring that back, except I want the big family to be all kinds of people from everywhere,” she said.

The Hawaii Cupcake Factory has a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for the initial staff and furnish the kitchen with necessary equipment, she said. The restaurant needs waiters and a sous chef.

Support levels begin at $10 and offer two gourmet cupcakes as a reward.  At $99 or more, the investor gets a dinner ticket for two redeemable any time. The top level of $5,000 or more will reward the contributor with a private dinner for up to 80 people.

“We’ll serve you a five-course meal with dessert. You will have to make an advance reservation because that many people means we’ll have to work ahead of time to get things ready,” Chef Dayva said.

Hawaii Cupcake Factory Soft Opening is schedule for Thursday, April 10th, 2014 at 5pm with a Grand Opening Party planned for Easter Sunday April 20th at 10am and two lucky companies or individual will be the VIP for 6 hours this is the reward for a $10,000 pledge ONLY TWO SPOTS AVAILABLE at this level.
