The Rider’s Edge New Rider course is intended for any aspiring rider who has never gotten on a bike. Rider’s Edge instructors are certified by Harley-Davidson and the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. Students will begin in the classroom learning about motorcycles and basic safety, before getting out on the range. Range classes will give students the opportunity to try what they’ve learned on an actual bike. Topics covered include braking, turning, avoiding obstacles, and controlling skids. Training bikes are provided.
The Rider’s Edge written and road tests will serve in place of the state’s, exempting graduating students from further state certification. Obtaining a motorcycle license at the MVC will be quick and simple once new riders have obtained their Motorcycle Safety Foundation completion card.
