Sweet Treats and Warm Socks: Homeless to Benefit from Local Author's Charitable Event

Cherry Hill, NJ -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/31/2014 -- It will be one sweet Saturday in Vineland, New Jersey.

On February 8th, 2014, from 11:00am to 2:00pm, local author C JoVan Williams will be hosting ‘Make Someone Else’s Day’ at ‘A Novel Idea: Chapter Two’.

The store will be accepting adult and child size sock donations for the homeless and in return, attendees can purchase any gently read book for only $1. Those who drop by a contribution will also receive $2 off Williams’ popular children’s book, ‘Uncle Bear’s Mystery Valentine’, which received a five star review from Readers Favorite, an organization that reviews and gives out awards to books that meet their high standards for reading excellence.

Williams will be on hand to autograph copies of the book, and is sure to win children’s (and mom’s!) hearts with a truffle demonstration inspired by her book.

“Truffle making can be tedious,” says the author with a laugh. “But there is an easier way, thank goodness! In my demonstration, I’ll be showing how with the help from a local chocolate manufacturing company, I’ve been able to cut the time in half. All by using a handy and simple truffle making kit. I think the kids will love it.”

Williams is also happy to be helping the homeless any way she can; a cause that is close to her heart.

“It pains me to see people who are cold and shivering on the street – especially this time of year,” says the author. “Sometimes people forget that they don’t need to make grand gestures or huge donations. The simplest of things – like a warm pair of socks, can change someone’s life for the better. I hope that everyone in the area will drop by with a pair of socks, and grab a truffle! It should be a fantastic day.”

To attend this event, please visit the bookstore at the above noted time, at this address: 631 E. Landis Avenue, Vineland, New Jersey 08360.
