Sharon M. Weinstein, RN, BSN, MS, CRNI, FACW, FAAN Elected to the American Holistic Nurses Association Nominating Committee

The American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA) elected Sharon M. Weinstein to the AHNA Nominating Committee for the 2014-2016 term. Her experience includes 30 years working in schools, corporations, and both national and international health organizations.

 

Topeka, KS -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/20/2014 -- The American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA) elected Sharon M. Weinstein to the AHNA Nominating Committee for the 2014-2016 term. She will be installed at the organization's 34th Annual Conference to be held in Portland, OR in June, 2014.

About Sharon M. Weinstein
Sharon Weinstein is currently the Chief Wellness Officer for the SMW Group, LLC, in Buffalo Grove IL, which provides needs-based solutions for healthy minds, bodies and spirits. Her background includes 30 years as an educator in a diversity of environments, including schools, corporations, and both national and international health organizations.

The author of nine books, including B is for Balance, she has also written more than 150 health-related articles for many peer-reviewed publications. She is a founder of the Integrative Health Forum, an alliance of licensed healthcare practitioners committed to creating the evidence base for wellness practice.

She is also founder and president of The Global Education Development Institute, a not-for-profit whose purpose is to help professionals manage populations across the globe with nurses as drivers for inter-professional practice.

An adjunct Professor at the University Of Illinois College of Nursing, Chicago, Ms. Weinstein’s degrees include a Diploma in Nursing from the Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing, a baccalaureate degree in nursing and behavioral science from Wilmington College in Delaware, and an MS in hospital administration and gerontology from the University of North Texas. Her research interests include fatigue, safety, and healthy work environments.

In her role with the AHNA, she will identify and recruit new board members who are holistic nurses committed to healing, health promotion, reflection and well-balanced lives for other nurses as well as patients.
