The Isabella Santos Foundation Announces Registration Availability for 7th Annual 5K Run

Waxhaw, NC -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/27/2014 -- The event of the year for the Isabella Santos Foundation is on the horizon. Through the past seven years, their charity 5K and fun run has raised over $700,000 for the ongoing research of Neuroblastoma and pediatric cancers that affect those close to hearts. Now, those interested in participating in the 7th annual event, held on September 20 in Charlotte, NC, registration and sign up is now open through the Isabella Santos website. This year, a 10K run will be introduced, as well. Every person who registers for the run will receive a t-shirt, goodie bag, and official racing bib with a microchip timing system.

Teaming up with the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL), the event is being held at Ballantyne Corporate Park, and festivities will kick off at 8 am. Interested families and individuals have the chance to become a sponsor, donate items to include in the raffle, volunteer at the race, or start their own fundraiser to get involved and benefit this foundation for children with cancer. To bring out the spirit of Isabella, a young girl who lost her five year battle with Neuroblastoma in 2012 at the age of seven, 5K participants and volunteers alike are encouraged to paint the streets of Charlotte purple. If unable to make the run, but still want to donate and raise funds, individuals can register as a Phantom Runner through the regular registration process.

On race day, there will be plenty of activities and prizes to raffle off with the support of donors and proud sponsors. Upon registration, individuals can purchase raffle tickets online, and have a chance to win vacation packages, sports tickets, gift cards, and much more. Whether a runner or not, there are activities for everyone to get involved on the day of the race. There will be food, activities for kids, a DJ, and a silent auction.

To support the Isabella Santos Foundation, a non profit in Charlotte, NC, get involved in their premier event, the annual 5K run. Prizes are awarded to winners in various age groups, and those who have raised the most through their own fundraisers. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to aid Neuroblastoma research, and the Charlotte community.
