Gray Zone Wins Bronze in the 2015 Feathered Book Quill Awards

Veronica Tabares’ powerful novel about cyber-bullying has won the bronze Book Quill award within the young adult category.

Los Angeles, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/23/2015 -- The noted young adult novel, Gray Zone, recently won bronze in the 2015 Feathered Book Quill Book Award in the Juvenile/Young Adult category. The novel has created an open dialogue within the community about the problems of cyberbullying, how it differs from traditional bullying, and how to recognize when it is happening.

The powerful novel written by Veronica R. Tabares centers on a young girl named Autumn who is the victim of a cyber-prank gone viral. As all of her personal information is posted online, Autumn is forced to transfer schools during her sophomore year of high school. Feeling alone, she is at first relieved to find that her best friend, Sophie Rose, is also transferring to her new school, until Sophie Rose starts keeping her distance. When tragedy shakes Autumn's world she becomes determined to put an end to the cyber-torture she and those she loves have endured.

"There is a great deal to be said for this book," the Feathered Quill Book Reviews states. "Cyber-bullying has been a topic of conversation and debate for years now, with tragedy being one of the results for many young, talented, but frightened and exhausted teens. The writer has done a brilliant job of creating a story that is loving, educational, and sorely needed."
