Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/03/2015 -- After their second production of a successful and entertaining Mardi Gras celebration in Philadelphia this past February, ADVENT Advertising will begin the planning process for the 2016 event this summer. Planning to return to Manayunk in 2016, the organization will be searching for sponsors and supporters to help provide the best experience for visitors. The Philly Mummers are a tradition over 115 years old, and the efforts of Mummers Mardi Gras have provided residents with an up close and personal experience with a variety of string bands.
The event was created to keep the tradition of the Philadelphia Mummers alive throughout the year, with the goal of raising awareness and funds for the various brigades. This past year, their fundraising efforts have resulted in over $17,000 going to the String Band Association. Parading through Main Street in Manayunk, the event saw performances from 17 string bands that all interacted with the crowd and provided a memorable experience for all involved. Over 10,000 residents watched the parade in 2015, and the company is looking to build on their sponsorships to increase awareness of the event.
