Lamar Hunt Jr.'s ECHL Team Win Home Opener

Lamar Hunt Jr.'s ECHL team the Missouri Mavericks won their October 24th home opener game of the 2015-16 season 2-1 against the Wichita Thunder.

 

Kansas City, MO -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/29/2015 -- The Missouri Mavericks, owned by Lamar Hunt Jr., won their first home game of the 2015-16 season on October 24. The Mavericks won 2-1 playing against their local rival the Wichita Thunder at their newly named home ice the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena.

Josh Robinson was goalie for the Mavericks for the home opener which resulted in the fourth win for the Mavericks this season. He allowed one goal throughout the entire game with Wichita Thunder defenseman Dalton Reum scoring the only goal against the Mavericks in the first period.

Multiple penalties drawn by the Wichita Thunder allowed the Missouri Mavericks to score two power play goals with the Andrew Courtney, Rocco Carzo, and Trevor Ludwig power play line-up. The game saw 18 shots on goal by the Wichita Thunder and 27 by the Missouri Mavericks, allowing the mavericks to score the extra goals to lead them to victory.
