Springfield, MO -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/16/2015 -- Artist Susan Sommer-Luarca the Official Artist for Triple Crown Winner and Breeders Cup Classic World Champion American Pharoah has completed the OFFICIAL portrait painting titled "THE CHAMP". The original painting was commissioned by Zayat Stables and will be on display at their New Jersey offices. The original painting is on a 4' x 5' museum canvas.

"I am honored to have been selected as American Pharoah's Official Artist. I was fortunate to witness American Pharoah win all three legs of the Triple Crown and the Breeders' Cup Classic Championships in person. I was painting American Pharoah LIVE at the finish line as the Official Artist of the Preakness Stakes, and then went on to The Belmont Stakes where I was positioned on the rail of the final turn to capture this iconic event on canvas. I am excited to create more Official paintings and sculptures commemorating American Pharoah as he continues to make horse racing history."
"Commissioned by Zayat Stables, this Official Portrait of the "Champ" pays homage to a truly great Thoroughbred race horse of our time. As requested by the Zayats, I have placed the World Champion in Egypt, my signature composition for American Pharoah, to represent "Pharoah" and his owners heritage. I also included the Zayat Stables silks draped over the ruins in front of the Giza pyramids, along with 3 distinct crowns symbolizing his Triple Crown triumph. In addition, each crown has a different color of jewel; red, white and blue to represent "American" for his name sake. A stone remnant in the foreground is carved with the Official Zayat Stables Logo.
