Experts continually point out the need for positive male role models in transgenerational poverty and violence. Therefore, Peter Brooks is dedicated to inspiring students in the metro area by channelling famous historical characters with media and demonstration. He is looking to raise $7,500 via Kickstarter for the “Unforgettable Living History project.”

So why not use these characters to help young people make better decisions about their lives? If I create an unforgettable learning experience for the students by making them feel like being in direct contact with the historical personalities, can't that help? The people I represent" said Peter Brooks "are interpreted as performance art and include a monologue, multimedia and use of the Socratic method of instruction, in other words, we ask questions.
This concept, a 'living history' presentation, is also called a Chautauqua. Peter Brooks aims to make his consistent with the organic, holistic way of educating young people because it comprises performance, storytelling, a circular style of speaking, and representation of the path to manhood and greatness in each character. The scripts and lesson plans are custom made for different age groups. At present, the characters covered by the project include Sequoyah, Mate Awan, Booker T. Washington, Romare Bearden, Genghis Khan, and Julius Caesar.
Highlighting the importance of this project, Peter states, "Students learn the challenges; opportunities and experiences of hardship at a young age which sculpted these people and helped define their greatness. For example, Julius Caesar was kidnapped, Booker T. Washington never knew his father or his birthday, Mate Awan's father was a great warrior and Genghis Khan witnessed his father's death at the hands of his most trusted advisers and body guards while Sequoyah was a physically challenged illiterate blacksmith who created the Cherokee alphabet."
Peter Brooks' highly promising project requires funding support to cover the following expenses.
- 5 custom make costumes, makeup kits and design for each character, wigs, shoes, and 10 props or interactive objects from the era. (75%)
- Marketing, booking, transportation, insurance, accountant, contracts, wireless microphone, PA system, etc. (15%)
- Media creation - securing rights, curriculum development, projector, etc. (10%)
Peter has recently started a Kickstarter campaign to raise necessary funds for this project. This project will only be funded if at least $7,500 is pledged by December 21.

Peter Books is the creator of the Unforgettable Living History project. He has an M.F.A. in Film/TV narrative production from the New York University Tisch School of the Arts and 3,000 hours actual instructional experience at both university and secondary levels.
