Hi 5 Access Interpreting and Communication Services Launches Classroom Access Program (CAP) for Deaf and Hard Hearing Students to Realize Their College Dreams

Hi 5 Access Interpreting and Communication Services is now offering free interpreting services during the admissions process for three years, in their new pilot program, to educational institutions.

Vancouver, WA -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/18/2016 -- Hi 5 Access Interpreting and Communication Services is an organization providing sign language interpreting and communication services. Devoted to bridge the communication gap between the deaf and the hearing, they have 300 sign language interpreters, operating in all the 50 states. To narrow the divide between the two communities in the field of education, Hi 5 Access Interpreting and Communication Services is launching a pilot program called the Classroom Access Program (CAP).

Hi 5 Access Interpreting and Communication Services is inviting educational institutions to participate in the Classroom Access Program to obtain interpreting services for all admissions and appointments for three years, for free or at a reduced cost. The vision of the programme is to increase the accessibility of post-secondary institutions, colleges and universities to Deaf and hard of hearing students.

Hi 5 Access is proud to be the exclusive interpreting service provider for The Deaf Vibe Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to establishing equal rights to private education for the Deaf and hard of hearing community. "We are really excited to get this initiative up and off the ground on a national level," says Hi 5 Access CEO Brian Bearden. "Our local trial run in Portland through the Fall of 2015 resulted in an overwhelming amount of success in creating opportunities for the Deaf and hard of hearing to attend colleges that previously had limited access or no access at all." They are now looking to include four educational institutions from the top 25 metropolitan areas of the nation within their program.
