Warner Bros' Superhero Film Suicide Squad to Hit Movie Theaters on August 5

Based on the DC Comics antihero team of the same name, the superhero film Suicide Squad will be theatrically released worldwide on August 5, 2016 in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D.

 

Shenzhen, Guangdong -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/31/2016 -- Following Man of Steel (2013) and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Warner Bros Pictures is going to release the third installment of DC Extended Universe – Suicide Squad worldwide on upcoming August 5 in forms of 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D. Written and directed by David Ayer, the American superhero film is based on DC Comics antihero team of the same name.

Suicide Squad stars an ensemble cast that includes Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, and Cara Delevingne. In the film, a secret government agency led by Amanda Waller recruits imprisoned supervillains to execute dangerous black ops missions in exchange for clemency and saving the world from a powerful threat.

In the Suicide Squad press notes this week, Warner Bros disclosed that Ezra Miller will appear as The Flash in the superhero film yet without information about The Flash's impact on the story. Miller first appeared as The Flash in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Miller will appear in the DC Entertainment superhero team-up Justice League which is to be unveiled on Nov. 17, 2017 and then star in his standalone Flash, set to be released on March 16, 2018.

The film Suicide Squad is projected to open with as much as $125 million in its first weekend, and is expected to set debut records for both August (Guardians of the Galaxy's $94.3 million in 2014) and Will Smith (I Am Legend's $77.2 million in 2007). Footage shown last weekend at Comic-Con, which did not include Miller, generated an enthusiastic response.

It has one more week to go for Suicide Squad to hit the movie theaters, but official trailers of Suicide Squad are now available on video-sharing sites like YouTube. Movie fans can visit one of those sites to preview the trailers of this superhero film. In addition to online previewing, fans could download these trailers for playback on mobile devices on the go.
